5 Types of Content You Can Make as a Fitness Influencer

In 2023, the new definition of a club is likely a Spin class. It seems that everyone is getting fit and fab all thanks (perhaps, no thanks too) to COVID-19. Almost everyone (at least on my feed) is somewhat of a budding fitness influencer and it is not difficult to see why.

Exercise promotes feel-good endorphins and naturally, you will notice that the majority of the fitness posts are filled with positivity. Those chiselled abs too, deserve their 3s of eternal digital fame. So … does just having a good bod automatically qualify you as a fitness influencer? Yes and No. A good bod is merely an end product and more likely, a visual click-bait. (Hint: Kardashian’s highly photoshopped body images on Instagram).

In other words, anyone who has a passion for fitness and advice on anything relating to health and wellness can work towards being a Fitness Influencer.

BUT … What types of content can you do to fool-proof your identity as a fitness influencer?

#1 FITNESS ROUTINES AND WORKOUTS

Humans are innately curious. We want to know The Secret (even though we pretty much already know). We want to know if we are missing out on any tips and tricks for the washboard abs. Thus, fitness routines and workouts are by far the definition of “old is gold” in this particular niche. When done well, it accentuates your personality and persona.

Furthering that, it initiates a connection between you and the viewer, akin to a literal workout buddy. This builds rapport and overtime, cumulates into your community

#2 – NUTRITION TIPS

Health comes from within and part of sharing “The Secret” includes what your typical meals look like. To increase your relatability, it could possibly be yourself taking on a challenge. This debunks the myth that influencers are perfect individuals, and opens up opportunities for more collaborations, whether with brands or with influencers.

#3 FITNESS FASHION AND GEAR REVIEWS

I stand firm that only when you look cute do you work out better. Part of the influencer package is creating visually stimulating content. Fashion is embedded in every part of our lives since Adam and Eve took their first bite from the Tree of Knowledge.

By creating content for the brand that you like (and tagging them of course), you are increasing your chances of getting noticed by their PR/Social Team. Catch them at the right time, and you could be rewarded quite nicely. Perhaps a featured post on their official account, or them sliding into your DM for a good endorsement deal.

And of course, what better excuse to show your hard work at the gym?

#4 WELLNESS AND SELF-CARE TIPS

The new normal has underscored how important wellness and self-care is. More and more people are focusing on these because truth be told, if you ain’t going to love yourself, no one would.

Influencers are sometimes dubbed to be inspirational figures that people aspire to be. When you provide a more holistic form of fitness (aka. Targeting the mind as well), you advocate for a well-rounded way of living that extends beyond aesthetics. It sets you apart from the monotonous showcase of good bods and brings a hint of fresh air. You bring in more depth to your personality and allow brands and audiences to actually understand what your personal values are.

As beauty standards get more and more unrealistic, fitness influencers have a greater call than looking good. It is important to set a proper tone and live by it in establishing your role as an influencer that is here to stay.
